This Month in Media

A calendar lies on a wooden table "Month in Media"

As a way to combat imposter syndrome, we like to celebrate our wins and take a stroll down memory lane to reflect on the great media we’ve obtained for the last month or so.

Before we dive in, here’s a quick reminder about PR.

PR is hard work. We make it look easy, but what you don’t see are the hours and hours of researching reporters, creating media lists, developing pitches, writing press releases, pulling together media kits, and combing through social media. We don’t secure national media using the copy-paste and mass email method. It isn’t the 8THIRTYFOUR way and PR isn’t for the faint of heart. It takes time and client understanding. Sure, a billboard is cool. But you know what’s really cool? An article with your name in it, touting something you’ve done.

What’s even cooler is when PR positions an expert in their field, solves a problem and educates the masses on a pressing health topic. Read on, baby.

Thought Leadership

Jennifer Maxson & Associates (JMA) has 20+ years of experience in leadership and team development, which means they’re perfect for thought leadership. Thought leadership is the expression of ideas or concepts demonstrating you have expertise in a particular field, area, or topic.

When you’ve got the expertise, all you need is the right topic. Team coaching is a hot space, or it should be, as more and more companies struggle to retain and attract talent. JMA is uniquely positioned to write on this with the company’s 23 programs focused on effective teams, communication, meeting facilitation and so much more.

How team coaching can transform your organization for GRBJ touched on giving employees a voice and helping teams perform better so the organization works more confidently and effectively to achieve its goals.

Pressing Need

The local Meals on Wheels (MOW) chapter, Meals on Wheels of Western Michigan (MOWWM), provides nourishment and community resources to senior West Michiganders. Yeah, they’re pretty amazing.

MOWWM funds programs like; dining centers, and food pantries, while annually providing around 630,000 meals to Kent and Allegan county homebound seniors. Seniors in our neighborhoods have expressed the need for independence assistance and MOWWM is providing the essentials one helping hand at a time.

Since some seniors need microwaves to heat their home-delivered meals, MOWWM reached out to 8THIRTYFOUR with the need and we got to work calling the newsrooms, and WZZM13 and FOX17 helped spread the word. MOWWM received over 60 microwaves. 60!!! And THAT’S why we do what we do.

Health Education

LifeCircles PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) has been providing seniors with in-home holistic healthcare since 2009. The organization prides itself on inclusive services built to promote independent senior living.

Through additional services ranging from day centers and health clinics to transportation, LifeCircles PACE program provides medical and social support for individuals 55 years or older. With PACE programs running for nearly 50 years, LifeCircles provides real nursing care and solutions for people in need.

Promoting a positive culture around brain change is one of their goals and by hosting their annual Dementia Fair they were able to educate the public on living with dementia and caring for those with it. Shelley Irwin at WGVU and Michigan Business Network, covered the need and spread the word about the afternoon of virtual learning. People were able to hear from individuals living with dementia and medical professionals alike.

LifeCircles team, you’re making the world a better place. We heart you.

We will be back in another month, with more media, and more client love. Until then, you know where to find us.
