It is officially spooky season. Break out your Halloween costumes and let’s get tricky.
If you haven’t noticed, the members of our team are HUGE fans of the season (see photo of our awesomeness). To celebrate, we put together a list of some of our favorite costumes and a drink pairing…because it’s on brand.
Go Classic
When it comes to Halloween, there are a few images that pop into your head immediately. We say embrace the classics, all while repping the historical garb. Grab a frilly shirt, some black leggings and boots, and some fangs for a Victorian Vampire look. Quench your thirst with a Vampire’s Kiss Martini. It’s such an obvious pairing. If blood isn’t your fav, embrace a different type of classic. Grab a short, sequined dress or a shirt and suspenders for a 1920s look. Then, while you’re painting the town red, be sure to pair your fun with some classic champagne or a Sidecar. It just fits, doesn’t it? Keep going back in time with a loose-fitting shirt, a skirt or pajama pants, and a flower crown or muffin hat. This combo is sure to send you back to the Renaissance (bonus points if you have a doublet sitting around, you nerds). Then, grab a wooden mug and fill it with your favorite beer. After all, it was one of the only safe drinks back then. Might as well embrace it!
Embrace Halloween
What’s Halloween without movie and television references? Dress like your favorite flick and drink in style.
Get ahold of a pumpkin suit and go as David S. Pumpkins.
This classic SNL bit is “part of it,” plus you can buy the suit online. Complete the look with extra pumpkins in your Pumpkin Spice Latte (yes, we know it contains no pumpkin. Shh). Grab a hockey mask and some clothes splattered in fake blood to rock a Jason costume. While you’re at it, pour yourself a Bloody Mary. It’s fitting. If you prefer to keep things weird, hit up your local secondhand store for some black clothing. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to look like a member of the Addams family. Make sure to sip this awesome black cocktail for the ultimate effect.
Put a spell on your friends and go as a group. It might take a little more effort, but the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus are always a crowd pleaser. Make sure to prepare some Bubbly Witches Brew (served in a plastic cauldron, of course) to keep the magic alive.
Keep It Fun
If those costumes don’t fit your idea of a good time, there are still plenty more options. Try one of these fun combos. Go find a gray sweater, some black pants, a black robe, and some glasses. Poof! You’re from Harry Potter. Pair it with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic Butterbeer to make your evening magical. If you’re feeling fabulous, pick up some scaled leggings, grab your glitter, and hit the floor as a mermaid on land. Just be sure to bring some Hpnotiq for that aquamarine shimmer.
No matter what you decide to go as for Halloween, make sure to have fun. After all, once October ends, the holiday rush is upon us. Need some help with marketing or events during the upcoming season? Reach out to us. We’ll make sure it’s a dream, and not a horror story.
