Woohoo! The first Your Biz, Your Town of the new year… how exciting.
We are already over people saying “Happy New Year.” I mean, what does that even mean? Any who… we digress.
During the holiday season, if you are like us, you are all gung-ho about giving back and volunteering at your favorite non-profit. Today, I want to challenge you to think a little differently and maybe spread the love all year around.
Our two guests – a for-profit & non-profit – today have formed a partnership to benefit grieving kids and teens in the Grand Rapids area. Sound familiar? It should, as we featured Ele’s Place Grand Rapids in December’s Cause We Love. Click on the link and read all about this great organization.
Baker Holtz approached Ele’s Place Grand Rapids shortly after Thanksgiving to chat with them about Holiday Give, a program they run each year benefiting a local nonprofit. Baker Holtz and partners collect much-needed items for aforementioned non-profit and deliver the goods shortly after the New Year. Baker Holtz extended Holiday Give to January 10th this year, so all of us can kick the new year off right by making a resolution to give back all year round.
For those of you interested in dropping off one of the items Ele’s Place Grand Rapids is in need of, simply read the wish list, grab some items and head to one of 3 drop-off locations. Oh, and while you are at it, sign up to get involved in Holiday Give 2014.
We love giving back, and we love businesses like Baker Holtz that make it a part of their culture. Did you know they are hosting a golf outing in June to benefit D.A. Blodgett – St John’s? I mean, these guys mean business. Pretty cool, if you ask us.
As always, thanks for tuning in and let us know if you are interested in being a guest on Your Biz, Your Town on the WGVU Morning Show with Shelley Irwin.
Oh and Happy New Year.
