Favorite Holiday Movies & Drink Pairings

Share the goods.

and an asshole in his bathrobe, emptying a chemical toilet into my sewer...

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!

When we’re not singing, we’ll be watching Die Hard (best Christmas movie ever made) and drinking spiked eggnog as we get ready to celebrate the holidays as a team. Being such a diverse team, we all have our favorite holiday movies, not everyone loves Die Hard (Scrooges), and boozy accompaniments. Since the holiday season is all about joy, we’re sharing our favorite movies and drink pairings just in time for the holiday break.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

If you catch yourself channeling a *litttttle too much Clark, maybe just slowly back away from Cousin Eddie’s Eggnog and go get some fresh air. We all know how this ends.

Home Alone

If you don’t think that Kevin McAllister grew up to drink Peppermint Martinis in the privacy of his home after the trauma of absolutely saving Christmas (THREE TIMES, but the other 2 are up for serious debate on the quality of cinema), then you’ve got another thing comin’.

The Holiday

If you’ve gotten to this point of watching The Holiday more than once, just take the bag out of the box. No preference on red or white, just do what you gotta do. We will talk in January.

It’s a Wonderful (Depressing) Life

Yay! 75 years of people trying to say that this movie is uplifting. While it might be inspiring to not be a shitty person, it will definitely have you drinking. If this flick is your flavor of the season, we commend you, you’re stronger than us. What doesn’t pair better than deep-rooted feelings of self-worth and tastes like it too? Mulled wine, of course, in the name of Clarence.

Elf

Like Buddy would say “Does somebody need a hug?” If you’re watching this movie more than once, then that’s all the white flag you need to wave to friends. We will be over with our dessert cocktails for you, and just whiskey for us. Actually, let’s do both—a Maple Syrup Old Fashioned to remind you that you’re of legal drinking age.

Obviously, we can make any event into a cocktail party but we want to hear from you. What are you stocking the house with and what is in your streaming queue? Let us know.

National Perimenopause Month starts today. We have a LOT to say, and we’re not going to be quiet about it, especially this month, so buckle up.

We were not prepared for perimenopause, much like our periods, sex, or anything else to do with our bodies. God forbid we talk about it openly.

We were taught to be ashamed, keep quiet, and to accept that it is just part of being a woman. We reject that narrative. In fact, like @bodespeaks, we want to bring it up in every conversation.

When we normalize perimenopause and the conversation around it, we stop isolating, and we’re all more prepared.
