Any chance to support our furry buddies we jump on at 834, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that our guests for Your Biz Your Town are the Humane Society of West Michigan and Eastown Veterinary Clinic. Both guests are sharing ways to support your pets.
The Humane Society of West Michigan is hosting their annual Bark in the Dark 5K Run/Walk. I especially like the ‘walk’ part. This event is near and dear to my heart as I was peripherally involved in getting it started several years ago. Buy me a glass of wine and i’ll tell you the story. The event also happens to take place in the Creston neighborhood where I happen to reside.
Animal lovers of all ages are invited to register and join the fun at 7 p.m. at Riverside Park for this glow-in-the-dark 5K walk/run. Guests are encouraged to bring their dogs as this will be a great opportunity for people and their canine companions to get active and support a great cause.
Find out more info at www.barkinthedark.org.
Eastown Vet, one of the Bark in the Dark sponsors, also happens to be hosting a Canine Behavior Seminar on October 28th at their location in Eastown.
Curious why your dog does what he/she does? If you’re looking for help treating your dog’s behavior issue, or just curious about why your dog does what he does join us on October 28th from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. I know i’ll be there, 4 male dogs in one  household is a lot to handle…and I have a lot of questions.
RSVP required. Please call (616) 451-1810 or email (hr****@********et.com) to reserve your space. This workshop is free and open to the public.

Being open and being honest aren't the same thing, and according to Grace Gavin, most leaders haven't figured that out yet.

Grace is the co-founder of Know Honesty, and she joined Maddie on the Happy Hour Hustle podcast to talk about the communication gaps costing teams more than they realize.

Nobody will remember your job title, and frankly, it's not what's interesting about you, anyway.

The reason you're in those rooms is to be memorable, so find what that is and embrace it.

Thank you to @sheleadssocietymi for having us at your monthly meeting to talk Big Deal Energy

Fixing the skills gap means changing how we do things... not more AI 'solutions.'

In her latest blog, Kim talks about the need for mentorship, a framework, better job descriptions, and (this one's really important) managers who aren't afraid to give honest, timely feedback.
