A Love Letter to Fall

Share This Post:

"A Love Letter to Fall" is superimposed over apple cider, pumpkins, and fall leaves.

Oh fall, how we love thee. Every August we look forward to that amazing day when the scent of PSL fills the air. That first night when you can sleep without the air conditioner buzzing in the window? It’s pretty much perfection, as far as we’re concerned.

What better way to express our excitement for one of our favorite seasons than a beautifully crafted love letter? Keep reading for some of the features we love the absolute most about our good friend autumn.

Apple Everything

We know the official flavor of fall is pumpkin spice, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the OG. Apple picking is, in and of itself, a fall staple (although we’re begging you to support a small local orchard instead of the ones everyone goes to). It only makes sense that everything you can make from those apples carries the flavor of fall. Whether it’s apple crisp, apple pie, apple croissants, applesauce, apple butter, apple cider, caramel apples, or anything in between, you know we’re already there.

And, Of Course, Pumpkin Everything

You’re probably thinking, right, so basic, so predictable. To that, we say, get over yourself. Things are basic because they are objectively good. Be proud of your love for pumpkin pie, pumpkin rolls, cookies, candles, and yes, even your pumpkin spice latte (PSL).

The Smell

You know the one. It hits you as soon as you step outside on the first crisp autumn day and you’re automatically in fall mode. Although the explanation behind this signature scent is rather gross, we’ll take it. It’s hard to replicate that specific cozy feeling only fall can bring on. Scent has the strongest connection to memory and emotion above all our other senses, so it makes sense why we feel so strongly about this upcoming season. We love the nostalgia it brings and we’re crossing our fingers that you have positive memories associated with fall too.

Don’t Forget About Flannel

We can’t forget about our favorite comfy shirt that functions as a light jacket around a campfire or while running through a corn maze. Whether it’s your Grandpa’s classic flannel or a trendy new shacket, we can’t miss the opportunity to wear our favorite fall item. Match it with your favorite tall boots or retro sneakers to pull together the ultimate fall outfit.

It’s About What’s on the TV

So, you have your pumpkin and apple-flavored treats… But what’s playing while you enjoy them? Only the best fall shows and movies, we hope. If you choose any of the below, just know you have fall taste:

  • Gilmore Girls – This goes without saying.
  • Coraline – A classic for adults and children alike.
  • Hocus Pocus – If you know, you know.
  • Only Murders in the Building – Who doesn’t love Steve Martin and murder?
  • When Harry Met Sally – The sweaters, the city, falling in love! What’s not to like?
  • It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown – Because who doesn’t love a giant pumpkin?
  • Beetlejuice – We’ll only say it once.
  • Scream – It isn’t spooky season without this classic.
  • The Haunting of Hill House – Netflix put everything they had into this limited series, and it scared the shit out of us. Enjoy!

We put everything business owners, employees, and educators told us on the wall, and guess what... yeah, some of it was mean.

The point is, everyone is saying it about each other, not to each other, and nothing is getting fixed that way.

Thanks to everyone who showed up to have the Uncomfortable Conversation on the skills crisis, and whether you were there or not, let us know what the next one should be.

Defense and manufacturing run on precision, protocols, and deadlines. When a team miscommunicates... things slip, and the cost adds up.
