5 Reasons Video Needs to be Your Jam

Did you know over 2 billion users visit YouTube each month? Every day, people watch over a billion hours of video and generate billions of views.
These aren’t professionally produced videos. A lot of the content is shot on an iPhone, edited and then posted. Videos don’t require a huge budget, fancy equipment and paid actors. According to HubSpot, video is the second most used content type on social media for  increasing audience engagement.
Your customers/clients are inundated with content, most of it being written. Video gives brands the opportunity to showcase a product’s features or showcase their services.
Here are a few reasons video needs to be your jam.

Bring in the Leads

93% of brands got a new customer because of a video on social media. Raise your hand if you bought a vacuum after seeing a video about it sucking up some legos or dirt on the floor! When a customer understands your product and the features that set it apart, they’re much more likely to buy.

Content Over Celebs

When people are deciding what video to watch on YouTube, finding one that relates to their passions is 3X more important than whether or not the video has a famous actor. It’s also 1.6X more important than whether the video has high-production quality. It’s about the content and how it relates to the consumer. No one cares if Brad Pitt stars in it.
Okay, we care a little bit.

Serve It Live

Live video is the third most used social media marketing tactic. Instagram and Facebook, to name a few platforms, have live-streaming capabilities. Some companies host Q&As or livestream a speaking engagement. The possibilities are endless, and it doesn’t require the content to be polished and edited. We do suggest doing a test run, though. Technical hiccups suck.

On the Go

On mobile alone, YouTube reaches more people in the 18-34 U.S. audience demographic than any TV network. Companies can’t afford to not be mobile friendly. Everyone has a phone, and they’re using it to scroll Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok (for now) and more. Develop a fun 15 to 20 second video to engage with your audience.

Sell the Thing!

55% of consumers use videos for purchase decisions. How many times have you Googled a solution? Maybe you’re remodeling your study and looking for easy-to-install wallpaper. You pull up a video that shows it being installed, and you think to yourself, “I can do that.” You add it to your cart and purchase it.
We get video can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be. The fact is, with stats like the above, you can’t afford to ignore this important marketing tactic.
