Awesome. That is the word we have to describe how amazing this week’s Your Biz Your Town was with Shelley Irwin.
There are several community events coming up that our guests, Silent Observer and Grand Rapids Pride Center, are hosting. You need to be there.
Catch the full interview here.

Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV)

This coming week, the Grand Rapids Pride Center will be hosting multiple events for Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) which is on March 31st. There are over 1.4 million Trans individuals in the United States. In fact, TDOV was started in Michigan and is now celebrated internationally. That is cool. You can check out the full list of events here: https://www.grpride.org/calendar/
I definitely encourage you to stop by SpeakEZ on March 30th at 6:30 p.m. for TDOV: Stories of Stealth, Activism and Positivity. Join the community for a night of celebration and entertainment. Hear inspiring stories from Trans individuals and learn about the positive work happening in the community.

Silent Observer, Ransomware Seminar

Let me just say, this is every business owners worst nightmare. Don’t let your data be held hostage.
Silent Observer’s Cyber Security Training Class will be a 3 hour course lead by Christian Kopacsi head of Cyber Security for Consumers Energy and formerly the Chief Information Officer with the State of Michigan. The session will include an overview of what Ransomware is along with a live demonstration of an attack and how companies can protect their data.
The of State of Michigan Cyber-Team, which acts like an emergency manager when a company gets hit with ransomware, will discuss recent attacks on businesses and the free services they provide.

Thanks to everyone who showed up to have the Uncomfortable Conversation on the skills crisis, and whether you were there or not, let us know what the next one should be.

Defense and manufacturing run on precision, protocols, and deadlines. When a team miscommunicates... things slip, and the cost adds up.

Kim will be at the Michigan Defense Expo in Detroit on May 13 to talk about the Hard Cost of Soft Skills (or as we call them, survival skills) and what we can all do about it.

We always say work smarter, which means bringing in expertise you don't have and hiring people who make your team more complete.

That's what Kim Bode said in a recent @fastcompany article on building sustainability into your business.
