WGVU Your Biz Your Town

What does Biggby Coffee, a 15 year old black lab, a distillery, historic bar and design/build company have in common? It’s the line-up for this month’s #YourBizYourTown!!! Can you feel the excitement??!!!!
It is always a party when 834 gets together with Shelley Irwin on the WGVU Morning Show.
The theme this month was focused on the west side and all of the great development; as well as companies doing business here.  There is a sense of tenacity and entrepreneurial drive that frankly is quite inspiring.

URBANEER:

As people move and change, the spaces they live, work and play in need to reflect that evolution. Spaces not only need to be efficient and functional, but also have pleasant and modern aesthetics incorporated into them. Within the architecture and design industries, the challenge has been to provide environments that are functional, modern and on the cutting edge of technology, while navigating mounting space limitations.
URBANEER was created in order to fill that need by creating space solutions – that is, taking the square footage our customers have and maximizing their efficiency. They utilize dual-purpose furniture so customers get the most out of the space they have, but they’re much more than product developers. URBANEER offers a complete range of services, from space-planning and room design to product implementation and interior furnishings.

Long Road Distillers:

In the past two months, Long Road Aquavit has won three Double Gold Medals at international spirit competitions, including the Denver International Spirits Competition, San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the American Distillers Institute Awards.
Long Road Distillers was born from the belief that making world-class spirits means never taking shortcuts along the way. After becoming the first craft distillery in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Long Road Distillers formed relationships with local farmers to bring that mission to Grand Rapids’ West Side neighborhood. Each spirit produced at Long Road Distillers is milled from locally sourced ingredients, fermented, and distilled on-site. The result is an un-compromised lineup of spirits including Vodka, Gin, Whisky and more. Their spirits, along with a handcrafted collection of cocktails and a wide variety of food can be enjoyed at their tasting room.

The Holiday Bar:

The West side is home to a long-standing staple, The Holiday Bar. Stop in and visit as they undergo an exterior renovation, launch a new menu and open their Bier Garden.
In business for 111 Years in the Heart of the West Side of Grand Rapids, The Holiday Bar is the perfect mix of a modern bar and grill with a classic throwback feel. The restaurant hosts multiple flat screen TVs, an all new Bier Garden with a full service bar and food that appeals to local Grand Rapids pub goers. The Holiday Bar is committed to purchasing the best local ingredients whenever possible and making changes in an effort to stay fresh and relevant for the next 100 years.
Be sure to tune in May on the 4th Friday at 9:00 a.m. for our next show so we can entertain you with our wit and humor.
