The Your Biz Your Town crew smiles at the camera.

This month’s Your Biz Your Town with Shelley Irwin was jam-packed with the brightest of organizations and businesses within West Michigan.
The full interview with Multi-Lab LLC., Russo’s International Market, West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology, and North Quarter of Grand Rapids can be found here.

Multi-Lab LLC.

Born and bred in West Michigan, Multi-Lab LLC. is an industry leader in lab furniture, design, and installation. Multi-Lab hires locals, produces Michigan-made products, and works with international clients. What’s not to love? For more info on this badass company, visit: multilab.net

Russo’s International Market

Alcohol delivery is now a “thing” thanks to Russo’s International Market. Fourth generation Russo family member, Eric Russo, discusses the logistics of the family-owned store’s grocery and alcohol delivery services. For more information on Russo’s delivery services, or to place your order, call (616) 942-2980.

West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology (WMCAT)

If you haven’t heard the news, WMCAT is moving to the vibrant West Side! WMCAT and Meijer are the only tenants that are currently confirmed for the upcoming “superblock” located between Bridge St. and Stocking Ave. Additionally, WMCAT will be re-airing its student-produced documentary Rhythm & Race: A History of African American Music in Grand Rapids, on May 11 at 7 p.m. at Wealthy Theatre. The viewing is free and no registration is required.
New this year to WMCAT’s lineup is their Summer Art Camps. These programs are offered to both GRPS and non-GRPS middle school and high school students. The three-day programs are offered at a variety of times and weeks throughout the summer. For more information, or to register for WMCAT’s Summer Art Camps click here.

North Quarter of Grand Rapids

The North side of Grand Rapids doesn’t get nearly enough love as it deserves. Support the North Quarter of Grand Rapids at the first-ever Tour De Quarter bike tour to showcase the changing landscape of the neighborhoods that compromise the North Quarter, including Cheshire, Creston, and Monroe North. This family friendly event will take place on May 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at City High School. For more information, click here.
Thanks for tuning in! Check back on Friday, May 26 for our next Your Biz Your Town.

We put everything business owners, employees, and educators told us on the wall, and guess what... yeah, some of it was mean.

The point is, everyone is saying it about each other, not to each other, and nothing is getting fixed that way.

Thanks to everyone who showed up to have the Uncomfortable Conversation on the skills crisis, and whether you were there or not, let us know what the next one should be.

Defense and manufacturing run on precision, protocols, and deadlines. When a team miscommunicates... things slip, and the cost adds up.

Kim will be at the Michigan Defense Expo in Detroit on May 13 to talk about the Hard Cost of Soft Skills (or as we call them, survival skills) and what we can all do about it.

Come to the talk, it'll be fun. Link in bio.
We always say work smarter, which means bringing in expertise you don't have and hiring people who make your team more complete.

That's what Kim Bode said in a recent @fastcompany article on building sustainability into your business.
