Meet Jessica, 834's Newest Team Member!

We are excited to introduce 834’s newest employee, Jessica Krysinska! Jessica is stepping in as the digital media lead at 834, and will be in charge of creating social media strategies for our clients and managing/overseeing client social media accounts. Get to know Jessica, her love for the gym and why she would attend a Brony convention.
What have you enjoyed the most so far?
The best thing so far has got to be the 834 team. There might not be a lot of us, but we get a lot done. I loved the trust I got from everyone right away. We don’t hide in our corner cubicles here, and we talk to each other a lot. Nothing we do is a one-woman show. I also love how much we get out of the office to connect with other Grand Rapids professionals at networking events or to support our clients at their press conferences.
How much did we scare you on your first week?
The ladies at 834 don’t hold anything back. So let’s just say, I probably already know more about my colleagues than I do about my relatives. I’m already feeling like I’m family here.
How is your work here different from your previous experience?
I’m fresh out of college, where the pace that we completed things was pretty slow. So when I was assigned two social media strategies due within one week, on my first week here, on clients I’ve never heard of… yeah, I went wide-eyed for a second. Note to self: the deadlines are real.
Speaking of previous experience, where else have you worked?
Don’t let my age fool you, because I’ve got a bigger resume with relevant experience than what most recent grads would have. Wherever my feet landed, I ended up having a vital role in social media and promotion. I assisted GVSU’s Laker Store with social media throughout college. I managed social media over the summer at a digital marketing agency, Adtegrity. And I’ve handled social media for a handful of local marketing-related organizations throughout my two years in Grand Rapids and am continuously doing so for The AdFed.
What is a professional or personal goal you’ve reached that you are really proud of?
Is it too boring to say graduating? Graduating was a huge relief for me. Especially after taking almost every “101” class for two years at a community college in order to finally figure out what I wanted to do with my life and still managing to complete my degree within four years. Getting hired in my new favorite city, Grand Rapids, comes in a close second.
What do you like to do when you’re not at 834?
I’m the actual definition of a gym rat. After my 9-5 grind, I eat, lift weights, write a fitness blog, sleep and repeat. Weekends are workout days too, but usually in the form of hand-washing my sweet Honda Civic Si or mall shopping cardio.
What’s your favorite food?
Probably fro-yo because the flavors and topping combos are endless. I feel the same about pizza.
Would you rather attend a Brony convention or the Gathering of the Juggalos?
Brony Convention. As much as black is my favorite color, I’d rather be surrounded by optimism.
Chris Evans or Chris Hemsworth?
Chris Hemsworth for both his movies and his looks!
What’s the most embarrassing song on your phone?
I use Spotify, but I have some super lame ringtones. I have this super silly remix of Arnold Schwarzenegger telling you to “Put the cookie down, now!”
