Public Relations Associate

Salary Range: $40,000 – $48,000

As 8THIRTYFOUR’s PR Associate, you’ll be at the heart of our integrated communications work, creating everything from compelling content and ad copy to strategic PR campaigns and engaging podcasts. This role puts you in the driver’s seat of multiple projects where your creative thinking, writing skills, and digital savvy can truly shine.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and gets excited about telling great stories across all platforms. You should be naturally organized, love diving into research, and be ready to bring fresh ideas to our award-winning team. The ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining your sense of humor is essential – and yes, we’ll make sure there’s wine.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: You’re a skilled writer and researcher who understands how to align content with strategic goals. You’ll handle everything from copywriting and competitive research to event coverage, always keeping client objectives at the forefront.
  • Social Media: You understand what drives engagement across all major platforms and know how to build strategies that deliver results. You’ll manage client social media accounts, develop content calendars, and create campaigns that meaningfully connect with audiences.
  • PR Support: You’re detail-oriented and understand the importance of building strong media relationships. From crafting targeted media lists to managing press opportunities and preparing clients for interviews, you know how to secure and maximize media coverage.
  • Event Assistance: You’re a natural problem-solver who can handle both the planning and execution of client events. This role involves traveling to support our national clients and ensuring every event runs smoothly.
  • Digital Marketing: You’ll support our website development projects with content writing and SEO strategy, helping ensure our clients’ digital presence is both engaging and discoverable.

Requirements (the necessary shit)

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
  • 1 to 2+ years working in communications
