Position type: Full-Time
Salary: $55,000 – $70,000 per year
This role is the engine of our agency. You’ll function as our Integrator, running EOS, keeping the team accountable, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks while our CEO builds the brand. We’re not handing you a perfectly oiled machine—we need someone who sees chaos and gets energized, not exhausted.
8THIRTYFOUR is a nationally recognized, women-owned integrated communications agency with 17+ years of experience helping organizations cut through the noise. Founded by CEO Kim Bode, we combine branding, design, public relations, digital strategy, video, websites, and content marketing—all under one roof to keep your message clear and consistent. We’ve been named one of Michigan’s fastest-growing companies, honored as the 2025 Women-Owned Small Business of the Year by Michigan Celebrates Small Business, and recognized by Forbes as a Top PR Agency. Our work reaches across the country, but our focus is always on building meaningful connections and driving measurable impact. What makes us different? Our values. They guide how we work, how we support our clients, and how we invest in the communities around us. We believe in being real, being kind, and doing great work—without the fluff.
This role keeps the agency running and the CEO on track.
You’ll manage the day-to-day operations of a small but mighty communications agency and its growing education arm, 8THIRTYFOUR Schools. That means overseeing operations across both integrated communications and our programming and learning business, making sure nothing falls through the cracks while also keeping our CEO organized, accountable, and focused on the right things. Calendar management, meeting prep, inbox wrangling, and being the person who says “did you actually do the thing you said you were going to do?” without apology. You’re part operations, part executive support, and fully responsible for making sure the wheels don’t come off on either side of the house.
You’ll report directly to our CEO, manage interns, and own the processes that keep us efficient. This isn’t a maintenance role. If something’s broken, you fix it. If it doesn’t exist yet, you build it. You’ll assess what’s working and what’s not, streamline workflows, and make sure we’re operating like the professional agency we are.
Experience running operations in a small business or agency environment, ideally with a few years under your belt managing the chaos of competing priorities, tight deadlines, and a founder who has seventeen things going on at once. You’re organized to your core and have a system for everything, but you’re also flexible enough to pivot when the day inevitably goes sideways.
You’re a strong communicator who’s comfortable managing up. You can tell the CEO what she needs to hear, not just what she wants to hear, and you do it with directness and professionalism. You have high EQ, impeccable follow-through, and the kind of attention to detail that catches problems before they become fires.
Familiarity with EOS is a plus—you’ll be part of our leadership team and should be comfortable with rocks, scorecards, and holding people (including yourself) accountable. You’re tech-savvy and comfortable with tools like G-Suite, project management platforms, and whatever else we throw your way.
