5 Reasons to Celebrate Galentine’s Day

Two young women laugh while embracing eachother "5 Reasons to Celebrate Galentine's Day"

As our idol, Leslie Knope would say, it’s “ladies celebrating ladies.”

If we had to choose between Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day, well lets just say we’d choose chicks before di…well you get the idea. Here are five hilarious reasons why you should be celebrating Galentine’s Day with your girl squad.

Reason Number One: No guys (The most important one, obviously).

That’s right, no more wondering if he’s going to text you back, no more worrying about what to wear on a date, and no more listening to your friends complain about their significant others. It’s just you and the girls, drama-free.

Reason Number Two: Wine

Wine, Wine and oh, did I mention Wine? Grab a bottle (or three) of your favorite vino and cheers to the strong, independent women in your life.

Reason Number Three: Gorge on snacks.

Let’s be real, who needs a man when you have a plate of nachos and a bowl of guacamole? Celebrating Galentine’s Day means you can indulge in all the snacks your heart desires without any judgment.

Reason Number Four: Your Squad

These women in your life will love you for who you are. Unlike men, your girl squad will never judge you for eating a whole pizza by yourself or wearing sweatpants all day. They accept you for who you are and that’s what makes them your ride and die.

Reason Number Five: It’s Basically Christmas Pt. 2.

Let’s be real, who doesn’t love getting gifts? Galentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to give and receive gifts. You can give each other your favorite books, a piece of jewelry with a meaningful message, or a gift card to a local boutique.

In conclusion, Galentine’s Day is all about celebrating the strong, independent women in our lives, so gather your gal pals, grab a bottle of wine, indulge in some snacks, and discuss all the reasons we are so much smarter than men (and should be running the world).

Cheers to strong women – may we know them, love them and be them.
